Two of the core value-added plug-ins that come with Remote Sensing Tools, allow for the ability to convert false-color composite imagery into pseudo natural-color imagery. Whether it’s Landsat imagery composited using the 7,4,2 bands as RGB, or CIR imagery, Quickbird 4,3,2 or Aster 3n,2,1 band composited imagery — the algorithms in these plug-ins will allow […]

Remote Sensing Tools Released
July 24th, 2007 · 3 Comments
I’m proud to announce and finally make the Remote Sensing Tools compilation of plugins for Photoshop® available. This marks an interesting turning-point for me, as I debated for quite a while about whether or not I wished to distribute certain things that I’d considered ‘proprietary’ from my personal tool-kit.

- Mon, 25 Jun 2007 at 5:28 am · I’ve received a number of messages asking when I’ll be ready to release the plug-ins for Photoshop®. The answer: They’ve been ready for release for some time. I’m just contemplating the best way to distribute them, as well as my having thought the new version of Geographic Imager would be coming out by now. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened, so I haven’t been able to get an idea of how my plugins will help anyone interested. (It’s kind of nice to go forward with a little information, anyway.) And no — these plug-ins are not geospatially capable, like Geographic Imager. If you would like to be able to have Geotiff support in Photoshop, then I’d suggest purchasing Geographic Imager. What my plug-ins do is image processing and production related. · (0)

The Geotiff (or GeoTIFF) format, is a TIFF image that has special geospatial metadata tags in the header. Unfortunately, most industry standard image processing, manipulation programs and readers do not natively support geospatial metadata in TIFF images. Such examples are Photoshop®, and other similar programs. What can we do then in order to work with […]
