One of the developments that’s been sadly lacking in available software is automatic or semi-automatic orthorectification. You can get it — usually with a software suite that’s completely cost prohibitive. Or, you can try varying methods in the Open Source that typically don’t suit fundamental imagery production needs, or end-up entirely manual in work-flow.

The release of Global Mapper 9.01 includes an option to export any loaded data to Google Maps tiles. Tiles2KML Borks System After Install, Uninstall
October 28th, 2007 · 2 Comments
I was going to Aside this entry, but I realized there’d be too many words I’d want to convey in relation to the issue. With that said — I took about half the day yesterday, trying to determine why on Earth FWTools and OpenEV wouldn’t load — passing out a bizarre error message:
The procedure entry […]

There’s been a great deal of buzz for a couple months, concerning a technology known as Seam Carving — also being refered to as Content Aware Image Resizing or Aware Image Resizing. Remote Sensing Tools Released
July 24th, 2007 · 3 Comments
I’m proud to announce and finally make the Remote Sensing Tools compilation of plugins for Photoshop® available. This marks an interesting turning-point for me, as I debated for quite a while about whether or not I wished to distribute certain things that I’d considered ‘proprietary’ from my personal tool-kit.
Visit the Shop, now listed above, for […]

- Mon, 25 Jun 2007 at 5:28 am · I’ve received a number of messages asking when I’ll be ready to release the plug-ins for Photoshop®. The answer: They’ve been ready for release for some time. I’m just contemplating the best way to distribute them, as well as my having thought the new version of Geographic Imager would be coming out by now. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened, so I haven’t been able to get an idea of how my plugins will help anyone interested. (It’s kind of nice to go forward with a little information, anyway.) And no — these plug-ins are not geospatially capable, like Geographic Imager. If you would like to be able to have Geotiff support in Photoshop, then I’d suggest purchasing Geographic Imager. What my plug-ins do is image processing and production related. · (0)
