Stefan, over at Ogle Earth demonstrates a brilliant media demonstration, of creating your own weather station-like application using Wirecast. There’s a variety of uses for such a demonstration, actually — beyond this example.

Taking it one step further
To add something to the mix, I’ll raise the bar a little bit by proposing a better interface, by simply adding a controller that takes you away from the keyboard — using a modified Ninentendo Wii-mote controller to do wireless controlling of the application.
All Stefan (or anyone) needs now, is a Wii-mote controller hack to be a pro in demonstrating freely with Google Earth, and for a variety of demonstration applications!
