DIY Drones and Remote Sensing

July 11th, 2007 · No Comments · Trackback/Ping · Share This

There’s been a number of featured spots on several blogs, concerning DIY Drones — a site that captures and shares the development work of amateurs and professionals, toward key technologies in building one’s own UAV.

A number of encouraging developments are available through the site, the most exciting for me being the auto-pilot technologies.

As I think Ed Parsons rightfully observes, this is another fine example of the democratizing of technology — and proving yet again that the spirit of the Open Source or simply, communal development initiatives out there, are allowing us all to launch in very interesting territories and end-uses.

I may consider getting into a project like this on a personal level someday — but currently I have other things to consider doing and getting done.
